half broke horses by jeannette walls

i have an autographed copy of this book, how cool am I?

i first picked up this book after hearing jeannette walls speak at the tx book festival. she comes from a crazy and super dysfunctional background so it was inspiring to see how she matured into the successful person she is today. the book is the story/memoir of her grandma who was an extremely interesting person (that's a complete understatement too). i love books like this because i like books about people, their history, and where they come from - maybe that's why i like talking to strangers :)

must read if you like memoirs and if you dont, then go read something else!

If you like memoirs, you need to read "Falling Leaves" by Adeline Yen Mah. I have a copy at home on my bookshelf. Feel free to grab it next time you're in Houston.
