F

we had our last international student dinner. xiao, lex, and i combined our english corners and had them come over for some good ole, traditional american food. it was sad saying goodbye - we'll probably never see them again :(.

this picture is of how the guys feel about cleaning up and washing dishes after a dinner party of 20 people.

mexico without words

lina's mexico architecture group put on a photo auction to help raise money to build a non-profit hacienda in mexico. designing this hacienda is part of their project. the auction was held at this up and coming wine bar on the drag and the pictures were all from their trip in mexico. i think it's neat how they're raising money for not only a good cause but the money also helps make their project and ideas become a reality.

dear God, please help them grow

lina was super sweet and bought me all the materials i needed to start my very own herb garden! I've been wanting to do this for a while :). i remember using fresh herbs from the garden outside to cook while i was in italy and dreamed of doing the same at my own home. sigh... dreams...

happy bday grace!

for grace's birthday, we went out on a double date to the austin children's museum then lunch at jo's cafe. jo's is a pretty neat place to go to and their hamburgers are delicious. it was my 3rd hamburger that week and i still enjoyed it :p. happy bday grace! more pics on flickr.

if she gave up then i should...

"I have tried every since he died to make his sacrifice meaningful," she wrote. "Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives.

"It is so painful to me to know that I bought into this system for so many years, and Casey paid the price for that allegiance. I failed my boy and that hurts the most."
