musings of an only child

now that jen's married and off in cali, the yu family has dwindled down to just 3 members. i think my parents cling to me more now that i'm the "only child." it's sort of sweet though because we do more special things together like how we went to lost maples state park this past weekend. lost maples is known for their maple trees' foliage which change into beautiful autumn colors. i think seeing this change in nature would be worth moving to a place with 4 seasons and enduring the cold winters that i abhor.

even though it wasnt peak time to see the foliage, lost maples was still beautiful and worth the 3 hour car trip. we even got to stop in a small town called Berdena to eat the best chicken fried steak! i like visiting small town restaurants :p.

tour the hotel cafe

yvonne and i were patiently standing in line to buy tickets to the hotel cafe tour when a car pulls up and out jumps a girl. she approaches us with free tickets, no strings attached, and gives us a hug and leaves us with stunned faces. we were so happy :) yay for free things!

we also got to meet priscilla ahn and she signed our CD (which sadly doesnt include her b(.)(.)b song). i felt like such a cheesey fan.
