we threw him a party through webcam to celebrate his birthday! it was great, we feasted in front of him and played slow-mo charades.

East Night

A few weeks ago, our organization had their annual fundraiser event at Fiesta Gardens, a perfect lake-side venue for this type of event. juan in a million catered (a client of PeopleFund) and there was an "open bar." i even won the silent auction item of 'floral arrangements' which i plan to give to jennifer as her wedding present!

it turns out michael barnes was there to write about the event and it just so happened that my hot date and i got to meet him! michael barnes writes in the life and style portion of the Austin American Statesman and his "out and about" section is about various events going on in Austin, which he gets to attend at no cost due to the publicity the event gets. I FREAKING WANT HIS JOB! anyways, my hot date and i were in the paper!!! so yeah, my first time being in the paper :) how exciting.

the new job is going good and i like it so far. i used to hate reading local news but i started reading more about what's going on in Austin since everyone at work is so aware and the organization is so involved with the community. also, stephen colbert is my new best friend at work.

showdown was surprisingly fun after getting over how it's kinda dangerous. it was my first time watching a powerpuff game and i must admit, it is rather entertaining.
